🇮🇹 Scandiano, Italy · ⚑ Hundreds of costumed performers
Dates not yet confirmed

The last edition has finished and the organiser has not yet published dates for the next one. Going by previous years, expect it around late September 2027 — but that is our projection, not an announcement, and nothing is settled until the organiser publishes the dates. Check with the organiser before you travel: paliodellangelica.it.

About

A two-day historical pageant at the Rocca dei Boiardo in Scandiano (Emilia-Romagna) recreating the world of the 15th-century Renaissance poet Matteo Maria Boiardo, lord of Scandiano and author of Orlando Innamorato, whose heroine Angelica gives the event its name. Hundreds of costumed performers fill the town with processions, jousts and contests between the town's contrade.

Programme

The programme for the next edition hasn’t been published yet. It goes up here as soon as the organiser releases it.

Getting there

Staged around the Rocca dei Boiardo in the historic centre of Scandiano (Reggio Emilia). Free admission throughout ("ingresso libero e gratuito"). The organiser's own parking page flags that car park P0 is available Saturday only — it is given over to the Sunday market — but does not publish pricing or a nearest train station; Reggio Emilia is the nearest mainline city, about 13km away. No shuttle service is advertised.
