The Saint Olav Drama — Stiklestad
Known locally as Spelet om Heilag Olav
About
Norway's largest and oldest outdoor historical drama, staged annually since 1954 on the field at Stiklestad where King Olav Haraldsson fell on 29 July 1030. Some 700 performers — professional actors, amateurs, choir, orchestra, horses and extras — recreate the days before the battle in an amphitheatre seating around 5,000, at the heart of the week-long Olsokdagene festival run by Stiklestad National Cultural Centre.
