Napoleonic French Brigade Re-enactment at Fort Amherst
The last edition has finished and the organiser has not yet published dates for the next one. Going by previous years, expect it around early September 2027 — but that is our projection, not an announcement, and nothing is settled until the organiser publishes the dates. Check with the organiser before you travel: fortamherst.com.
About
The Napoleonic French Brigade of the UK stage a re-enactment weekend in the Gatehouse at Fort Amherst, a Napoleonic-era fortification in Chatham, Kent, with free grounds admission for the weekend.
Programme
The programme for the next edition hasn’t been published yet. It goes up here as soon as the organiser releases it.
Getting there
Fort Amherst is a short walk from Chatham's combined train and bus stations (Southeastern services, ME4 4UB). Entry to the grounds and this event is free; the fort's regular paid attractions (tunnel tours, ghost tours) are separate and unrelated to the reenactment weekend. General site opening hours are 08:00-16:00; the organiser had not published a detailed programme or specific event times for this weekend at the time of writing, so check fortamherst.com before travelling.
