Five-Petalled Rose Festival, Český Krumlov
Known locally as Slavnosti pětilisté růže
About
The 38th edition of one of Europe's oldest continuously-revived municipal historical celebrations, recreating Renaissance-era Cesky Krumlov under the Rozmberk (Rosenberg) family, commemorating a 1586 event tied to Jan Zrinsky's 20th birthday. The three-day festival fills the town and castle with costumed processions, knightly tournaments, craft markets, period cuisine, fire performances and torchlit evening parades with fireworks; over 500 costumed participants typically take part.
