Back to the 1940s (Eden Camp)

An annual immersive 1940s living history weekend at Eden Camp Modern History Museum, a former WW2 prisoner-of-war camp near Malton, featuring reenactors, a 1940s evening dance and access to the original wartime huts.

Nearest railway station is Malton, about 2.2 miles away; the organiser points visitors to the Coastliner bus or a taxi from the station (Eden Camp sits just off the A169/A64 junction, YO17 6RT). For this weekend a free shuttle bus runs from Pickering and Galtres to Eden Camp on both days, with the first departure from Pickering at 10:00 and the last bus back from Eden Camp at 22:45 on Saturday and 17:00 on Sunday. Parking on site is free for cars and coaches. The event has its own pricing: day tickets are GBP19 adult or GBP17 booked online in advance, GBP15 child (5-16) or GBP14 online, under-5s and carers free; weekend tickets (online only) are GBP30 adult and GBP25 child, with family weekend tickets from GBP60 to GBP80. The Saturday evening tea dance is included with a Saturday ticket, or can be bought separately for GBP10 at the gate from 17:00, subject to availability. The event runs 10:00-17:00 on both days; the museum's general ticket page gives last entry as 16:30, but the event page states none.
