Battle of Cedar Creek 162nd Anniversary Reenactment

Over a thousand reenactors recreate the last major battle of the Shenandoah Valley on the original ground where Sheridan and Early fought in October 1864. The Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation has run the event for more than three decades on the 350 acres it has preserved, including the Federal 19th Corps earthworks and the Heater House, a log structure of 1762 that witnessed the battle and opens to visitors during event weekends. Cavalry, artillery and infantry appear both in action and in camp, alongside battle scenarios, music, symposia and medical, military and civilian demonstrations.
