Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT)

The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is the world's largest military airshow, held annually at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. Air arms from dozens of nations bring fast jets, transport aircraft and historic types for several days of static displays and flying demonstrations. The 2027 edition carries a 'Tiger Gathering' theme, marking fifty years of the Silver Tiger Trophy with a rare massed display of NATO Tiger Association aircraft in their distinctive tiger liveries. It also marks the show's return after the 2026 edition was cancelled following disruption at RAF Fairford linked to Middle East military operations.

Nearest mainline station is Swindon, about 50-55 minutes by direct train from London Paddington; a free shuttle bus (roughly 30 minutes, seats limited and booked with your ticket) runs from Swindon Bus Interchange to the airfield. Free Park & Ride/shuttle services also run from South Cerney and from Cheltenham Racecourse (about 1hr 30min journey); using a shuttle or Park & Ride means you can't also drive directly to RAF Fairford.
