About
The Okinawan air festival, held at JASDF Naha Air Base beside Naha Airport and named for the Okinawan word churashima, meaning beautiful island. Naha flies F-15 interceptors and is the busiest JASDF base for scrambles, and the event is run jointly with the Japan Maritime and Ground Self-Defense Forces and the Japan Coast Guard, which broadens the ground display well beyond the usual air force fleet. The 2026 edition includes a Blue Impulse display and closes the Japanese air festival season.
