Air Legend (8th edition)

The eighth edition of Air Legend brings more than a hundred legendary aircraft to Melun-Villaroche, a former flight-test base on the Brie plain 40 km south-east of Paris where Dassault and Snecma once trialled their prototypes. Second World War warbirds - a B-17 Flying Fortress, several P-51 Mustangs, an A-26C Invader, a PBY-5A Catalina - fly alongside a Mirage 2000D and a Rafale Marine, wrapped in a 1940s vintage atmosphere with living-history camps and period concerts on the ground. The flying programme is identical on both days, except the Patrouille de France, which displays on the Saturday only. The 2025 edition drew 26,600 spectators, and the organisers have an agreement securing the show at Villaroche until 2030.

Aerodrome de Melun-Villaroche, 77950 Montereau-sur-le-Jard, about 40 km south-east of Paris. By car: A5b motorway, exit 12 (VIP) or exit 13 (general public); free parking on site. By rail: Transilien line R or RER D to Melun, then the event shuttle between the station and the airfield - outbound 08:00-11:00, return 18:00-20:00, EUR 5 round trip. Gates open 09:00; the site closes at 18:00. Tickets: adult EUR 30 launch offer (EUR 40 at the gate), limited to 3,000 places; children 10-15 EUR 15; free under 9 with an invitation collected at the entrance. Tickets are not nominative and are also sold at the Melun Val de Seine tourist office, Place Saint-Jean, Melun.
