About

Nyutabaru in Miyazaki prefecture is a front-line fighter base on Kyushu, home to F-15 units and formerly to the JASDF's aggressor squadron, and its December air festival is the last big flying event of the Japanese season. The 2026 edition includes a Blue Impulse display. The southern Kyushu weather in early December is usually clear and mild, which makes it a more reliable date than its position in the calendar suggests.
